Iโm a nomadic golfer; wandering around Australia in a caravan, playing and sharing views on Aussie golf courses.
โI love the feeling of playing a new golf course; its like opening that mystery birthday present as a kid. Sometimes you get a stinker, sometimes you are pleasantly surprised and occasionally you are blown away when you least expect it. Itโs not the pristine condition that excites me, itโs the layout; something different, something eye-catching or something tempting you to make a decision to take on risky options for scorecard reward.โ

The below map shows the 376 Australian courses I have played up until the end of ’24 (Total 401, with 25 overseas courses also)

This site and associated blogs will outline the courses I play as I attempt to play 1000 different courses (Australia has ~1800).
At the beginning of our travels in January 2020, I had played 168 different courses. 2020 was spent predominantly in NSW, with a smattering of Vic and SA, and I finished up playing smack on 100 (not all new to me), while 2021 was SA & Tassie centric and I played 73. 2022 was spread up and down the East Coast, from Tassie to Cooktown, with 53 courses played. 2023 took us into Outback Qld and up into the NT and I knocked off another 47, while less time was spent on the road in 2024 and as a result only 27 new courses, of a total 38 were covered. It did however, see me reach the 400 course milestone.

2025 UK Interlude
From 21 July 2025 to 19 September 2025, I took a break from playing our many and varied Australian courses and spent these 60 days playing 61 courses in the UK with my youngest son, Tanner. We played predominantly links courses, a real mix of elite/ famous (Royal Portrush/ Prestwick, to name a couple) through to 9-hole honesty box tracks (Covesea, Otway ……)
